of the ingredient herbs in PROSTA-FORTE.
Saw Palmetto Berry
Saw
palmetto was used as a male tonic long before people understood
how it helps with prostate health. Recent clinical studies show that saw palmetto is a safe
and effective natural treatment for an enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Saw palmetto
has a proven effectiveness at inhibiting the inflammation associated
with BPH, such as difficult urination or more frequent urge
to urinate. Historically,
saw palmetto has been used to support urinary health. It was prescribed as a treatment for irritations of the
bladder, urethra, and prostate gland, such as chronic urinary
tract infections. It
also has a reputation for increasing sperm production and sex
drive in men.
Juniper Berry
The
berries from this small shrub contain a volatile oil upon which
its flavor and diuretic properties depend. This powerful diuretic has been used throughout history
for the treatment of diseases of the kidney, bladder and urinary
tract. Research has validated the effect of juniper’s ability as a
diuretic; and new evidence suggests that it may also lower uric
acid levels, thus causing an increase in urine volume.
Uva-ursi Root
Uva-ursi
has been used worldwide as a diuretic, astringent, and antiseptic
for centuries. Also known as bearberry, this low growing shrub
found in many parts of the world has an antiseptic effect on
the tissues of the kidneys and urinary tract, thereby lessening
the pain from such disorders as kidney stones, urinary tract
infections and nephritis.
Parsley Root
In
classical medicine, parsley root is used as a diuretic to increase
the flow of urine and to strengthen the kidneys. It is likely that the very high level of potassium in
parsley root contributes to its effectiveness on the prostate
gland. It contains
3800 mg. of potassium per 100 grams of dried parsley root. It also has more iron than any other green, along with
vitamins A, B, and more than three times the potency of vitamin
C than citrus juices.
Cubeb Berry
he fruit of this climbing perennial plant, which grows
extensively in coffee plantations, was brought to Europe by
the Arabians, who used the berries as a pepper. The berries yield a volatile oil and cubebic acid, which
contribute to its historical use as a remedy for cystitis, urethritis,
and abscesses of the prostate gland. Therapeutically, it is a powerful diuretic, expectorant
and stimulant to the genito-urinary tract. It increases secretions while it disinfects.
Marshmallow Root
In
folk medicine, marshmallow is used as demulcent for the treatment
of irritations and inflammations, such as those caused by urinary
tract infections. Modern
research has shown that marshmallow also stimulates the immune
system and the production of white blood cells. It is renowned for painful complaints of the urinary
organs, exerting a relaxing effect upon the passages, as well
as acting curatively.
Joe-Pye Root
Joe-Pye, or Queen of the Meadow, is a graceful
plant, growing to the height of six to twelve feet. Known by herbalists as Gravelroot, it is used to dissolve calcifications
and adhesions, making it an excellent herb for kidney stones,
cystitis and other kidney and bladder diseases.
